His major works include Origins and functions of positive and negative affect: a control-process view (1990, with C.S. Carver), Self-regulation and controlling personality functioning (2009, with C.S. Carver), and Scaling back goals and recalibration of the affect system are processes in normal adaptive self-regulation: understanding ‘response shift’ phenomena (2000, with C.S. Carver). His fields of specialization are health psychology, personality psychology, and self-regulation.
